Where does fit2date operate?
fit2date (the only fitness company of its kind worldwide) was launched in Sydney in July 2007. Since then it has grown to Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Melbourne and Perth. Further plans for growth include Wollongong, Newcastle, Adelaide and the Sunshine Coast so make sure you join the fit2date Club to let us know if you are keen to come when we kick off! Fit2date also launched in New York in June 2008. We run the groups in outdoor parks as we think there is nothing better than being outside with nature.
How did you get the idea?
Erica French (who set up the company) found she had lots of gorgeous, fun, single girlfriends and lots of gorgeous, fun, single guy friends – who all said it was difficult to meet new people!
She set up fit2date so like minded fun, active people could get to know each other in a relaxed and pressure free environment, without the sleaziness of meeting in bars or clubs or the randomness of online dating.
What sort of people go?
Fit, sporty, fun and enthusiastic people come to fit2date. The people coming are happy and confident in their own skin and want to train hard. We have all met amazing people at our groups!
What's the age group?
At fit2date we don’t have age groups as yet, as we want to keep the focus on training. We do not try to ‘set’ anyone up so we care about how fit you are. We bring a group together who are all fit and want to train together. We always get a great spread of ages anywhere from 20 – 45 with an average age of about 33. We will be setting up fit2date plus in the future purely for the 35+ age group, if you are interested in joining a 35+ group then sign up to the fit2date club and we’ll let you know when it’s happening in your area.
How big is the group?
There are 12-16 people in a group – it’s an equal split between girls and guys.
Do people go on their own?
The majority of people come on their own, about 30% bring a friend. It doesn't matter either way, everyone gets to know each other very quickly and becomes mates.
What does the program consist of?
Lots of games and exciting challenges, it’s a different format each week. We make it fun so you don’t realise you're working out. The training is anaerobic in nature with lots of short fast intervals (sprints), lots of core and circuit work. There is no boxing.
I've already got a Gym Membership – why should I do this?
Most people who come to fit2date have a gym membership and fit2date training should be seen as an addition to your weekly training regime. It will provide variety in your program by doing something different and fun with a group of great people.
What do I need to wear?
At fit2date normal training gear is in and dressing up is out – oh how refreshing - we like everyone at their natural best so grab your runners and join a group!
What happens at the after party?
After the 4 weeks of training we are all buddies by the end so this is a great way to end our month together to celebrate with a few beverages – on fit2date of course!
What is the 'success rate'?
It depends how you define 'success'! Everybody (100% - see our testimonials) has said they enjoyed the program and that it motivated them to do more training. We have had lots of 'hook ups' and yes even ‘relationships’ have blossomed. We have lots of friendships as well plus people coming back to do more courses which is ‘success’ to us.
How fit do you need to be?
fit2date is for FIT singles wanting to train with other FIT singles and we recommend that you be at least a 5 out of 10 fitness level. You should be doing some form of exercise at least 3 times a week. There is lots of running/sprinting activities involved so make sure you are ready for some running action.
There isn't a fit2date in my area?
Let us know! If we get enough people we may set one up.
How much does the program cost?
The 4 week program including 4X1 hour training sessions, prizes and after party drinks is $200 plus GST and the credit card fee. Make sure you sign up for the fit2date club to receive our regular member specials. If you join the fit2date Club you will be entitled to monthly specials and discounts.
How do I pay?
Once you have decided on which group to join you will be asked for your personal details and then you will be asked to pay using your credit card via paypal (you do not need a paypal account). The price you pay includes GST and the credit card fee. Once you have paid for a particular group you cannot switch to another group unless you have given us at least one weeks notice and we have been able to fill your spot in the group you originally signed up for. Please note that we do not refund. The only circumstances where a refund will be granted is if we were unable to fill your group.
How can I sign up?
Its simple, go to reserve a spot and pick which group you would like to join. Once you make your payment you will be a member of that group and fit2date will send you all the training information.
What are the Mega Meet Sessions?
The Mega Meet training sessions are held quarterly and are a one-off 2 hour event with as many fit single people as possible. These sessions are a full hard 2 hour event but heaps of fun at the same time. It’s a great way to get a taste of what fit2date is all about and for you to meet heaps of fit people at the same time. The Mega Meet sessions cost $50 and includes refreshments and prizes.
